Physical Preparedness & Dynamic Conditioning

In this classes we focus on bodyweight training and movement inspired conditioning that can be trained in free association. We will work with you to achieve specific individual goals such as your first pull-up, handstand pushup or working on weaknesses to prepare you for the more skill based work in the movement classes.

Dynamic conditioning opens up more ranges of motion and leads to getting used to different trajactories as well as getting used to free association settings where you move smoothly from one position to the next.

Focus Classes - Free association systems

Build fundamental skills of the soft acrobatics world like cartwheels, rolls and more advanced skills, to open up more possibilities for free association and improvisation. Putting everything together this is a well rounded system to use for improvisation and expressing freely.

Focus Classes:

Ground locomotion: Transition to connect and disconnect from the ground with Floorwork's concepts. Introduction to acrobatic elements to include in the movement vocabulary for self expression in Improvisation.

Inversion Elements: cartwheel system, accuracy in trajectories

Skillwork and transitions: learn soft acrobatic skills and transitionions to smoothly connect everything in free association.

Handstands: The Handstand practice needs more consistency and long term practice to go somewhere. Therefore it has a fixed spot in the schedule that stays for the whole year. See description below

Handstand Classes

Get comfortable in the upside-down position and improve your ability to get into, hold and use the handstand for acrobatic manoeuvres. Handstands require constant and dedicated practice, which is why they have a constant and dedicated place in our schedule.

Manu is the handstand expert in our community and she is passionate about this practice. She will guide you through your first freestanding handstand as well as more advanced holds in shapes and skills such as the press handstand.

In these classes the handstand is not treated as an isolated skill but used as a tool to better understand all the concepts and principles taught in the other classes on a deeper level.

Movement Classes

These classes are the heart and soul of our community. We visit different areas of movement practice and use the projects to teach you principles and concepts that translate how you use and connect with your body.

As well as exploring your potential, learning new skills and gaining more options of how you move, we aim to harmonise the mind-body connection and provide education to a high level of physical literacy.

You will learn how to jump, climb, dance, fight, role play and much more while understanding how it is all connected and how it can greatly enrich your everyday life.

We cycle through the different projects. Take a look at our curriculum for year 24/25 to get an idea of what to expect in each cycle.

Cycle I: Synergetics,: Coordinated actions of muscle groups working in unison to enable efficient, stable and adaptive movement. Decode movement, learn new skills, train referential configuration and underlying synergies, and connect it all in free association.

Cycle II: Balance, Explore the elasticity of the Body through Lightness skills, Preperation for Environmental Movement Practice

Cycle III: Environmental Movement Practice, Balance and lightness skills, Make the city your playground

Open Sessions

Sometimes all we need is a bit of space and inspiring people around us to grow.

Our open session is a space where you can either practice and refine what you have learnt in our classes or play around with other concepts or ideas that you bring with you.

At least one of our teachers will be present at the open session to practice side by side, answer questions or correct you if necessary.

The open sessions provide a moment and a location for you to work on something at your own pace or simply come and be inspired by the enthusiasm for movement of other community members.
